Diverse Cultures/Uncommon Skills: Profiles of Six SPSS Experts
This is the result of a project I worked on from May to November 2005. I interviewed SPSS experts in Montreal (Raynald Levesque), Moscow (Kirill Orlov), Buenos Aires (Hector Maletta), Pamplona (Marta García-Granero), Providence (Richard Ristow) and Washington, D.C. (Art Kendall). If you like to get inside the heads of brilliant and somtimes eccentric people, or if you are interested in learning more about SPSS, the powerful statistics and data management program, you'll find much of interest in this section.
Paula Dowers Customs Painted Furniture and Boxes [Paula and King are married to each other]
Paula Dowers
Now that I am retired and have time to burn, I’ve turned to my house, which was largely neglected during the 20 years I was operating my catering business. I like to go to garage sales and look for objects I can paint or decorate and turn into something nice. It’s great fun, and some folks think I have a knack for it. My slide show is just a way for me to share my work with my friends and family around the globe. Wish me luck at the garage sales!

My first love...other than that little red-haired girl in kindergarden...was photography. I was fascinated by images in books and magazines and by my mother's collection of old film cameras. Despite my love of photography, I made few attempts at capturing images myself until I was in my mid-twenties when I jumped in with the intensity and enthusiasm shared by all those with a passion for their art.

My efforts led to a career as an advertising photographer before I went back to school to seek a graduate degree. Now photography is a deeply fulfilling hobby. Digital photography, Photoshop and the World Wide Web have given me new tools and new venues for sharing my interest.

This website is mainly about images. You'll see a lot of travel photography because I work for American Airlines and travel opportunties are abundant. There are few samples of my advertising work, although I will add a few after I am through adding other images that have more meaning to me.
